CHFA’s Lisa Hensley, NeighborWorks America’s Eileen Anderson, Alder Steven Winter, Alonda Emery, U.S. Sen. Blumenthal, and LCI’s Arlevia Samuel at Friday’s groundbreaking.
On Dec 2, Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) of New Haven held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the four different houses we are working on in Newhallville. We are really transitioning back into new construction, in order to keep the homes that we are building affordable.
The four new homes will be: a single-family home at 44 Lilac Street, a two-family home at 98-102 Bassett Street, a two-family home at 83-85 Butler Street, and a two-family home at 260 West Hazel Street, where we held the groundbreaking ceremony.
Our work would not be possible without the collaboration of the community, our staff & board, and all of your supporters. We’d like to give a huge thank you to our speakers and all of you who made the time to attend.
Thank you, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Mayor Justin Elicker, Lisa Hensley from Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA), Alder Steven Winter, Eileen Anderson at NeighborWorks America, Arlevia Samuel at Livable City Initiative (LCI), and Alonda Emery – the future homeowner of the lot we broke ground on!
We are grateful to do what we do and we can’t wait to celebrate more affordable homeownership in the future!
