AFFORDABLE REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT

In 2020, NHS worked on the rehabilitation of 8 houses to historic and Energy Star 3.0 standards, providing 10 families with a place to call home.

Average selling price of an NHS-renovated two-family home: $185,000
Average cost to purchase, demolish the interior down to the framing, fully rehab, and landscape this home: $475,000

It’s a win-win deal:
NHS obtains the subsidies to write down the costs, and our buyers are able to purchase homes they can afford. Homeownership is a key to neighborhood stability, which is an essential part of our mission.
