IN NEW HAVEN
54% RESIDENTS ARE HOUSING INSECURE
NHS of New Haven is revitalizing New Haven via social, economic, and environmental health. Our holistic approach to development merges community building with direct services. Our work is not possible without your support.
We are dedicated to revitalizing the area via social, economic and environmental health.
We are committed to developing affordable housing, making homes safe and energy-efficient, and increasing homeownership opportunities.
We are providing homebuyer education and financial coaching, home maintenance tutorials, and gardening and landscape workshops, to give customers the tools to purchase, care for and stay in their homes.
Every year, NHS participates in a number of tax credit programs, including Connecticut’s Neighborhood Assistance Act program. If your Connecticut-based business is interested in supporting a portion of our work with a contribution that reduces your state tax obligations, please contact our office for more information.

The right to housing is the economic, social and cultural right to adequate housing and shelter. It is recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. People should be able to enjoy their basic needs in conditions of dignity.
Affordable, energy efficient housing contributes to significant economic impacts, including increases in local purchasing power, job creation and new tax revenues.
There’s no place like HOME for the holidays
Celebrate the season by making a holiday donation in the name of a loved one.
All donations are tax-deductible contributions to NHS.

“NHS has a history of fulfilling the vision, a commitment to community – not just building a house but building a community. I’m certainly proud to have been a small part of what they’ve done.” ~ Jackie Downing, Community Foundation For Greater New Haven
