Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven is excited to share several updates on our ongoing and upcoming construction projects that will bring new homes to neighborhoods across the city.
Construction is well underway on one of our newest projects on Winchester Avenue, where a new two-family home is currently being built. Work is progressing steadily, and it’s exciting to see the vision begin to take shape on the ground.
Meanwhile, the groundwork is being laid for three additional two-family homes planned for Winthrop Avenue, Thompson Street, and Howard Avenue. Building permits for these properties have already been secured, and as soon as the weather improves, excavation and construction will begin.
Looking ahead, we’re also preparing for the next phase of development. NHS of New Haven is currently soliciting proposals from architects to design six homes. At the same time, we are actively pursuing funding and subsidy commitments to help bring these projects to life.
This next round of development will unfold in two phases. Phase one will include new homes on English Street and Chapel Street. Phase two will add three more homes with two on Frank Street and one on West Street.
As these projects move forward, we look forward to sharing more updates and celebrating the progress together with our community!
