Reflections of our commitment to excellence.

Margaret Flint Award
• On May 16, 2017, Neighborhood Housing Services was honored to receive the Margaret Flint Award from the New Haven Preservation Trust. The award is given to an "organization whose support of preservation in the City of New Haven has contributed to the integrity of the community, the protection of its historic resources, and an appreciation of its history." The New Haven Preservation Trust has not awarded the Margaret Flint Award in more than a decade, and the staff at NHS were humbled and thrilled that the organization had been selected. You can read more about the event, and view the other award winners, on the New Haven Register's website. Green Circle Award
• Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven received the 2010 GreenCircle Award from The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) for our work in benefiting the Connecticut environment. We received the award for our post-purchase homebuyer education programming in the state-of-the-art Home Improvement and Energy Conservation Laboratory, a hands-on training facility for homeowners to learn to maintain their homes and conserve energy. As energy costs continue to rise and many residents’ incomes remain limited, this knowledge has become critically important for homebuyers, homeowners and tenants to avoid unnecessary expenses.
