URI, or Urban Resources Initiative, is a program though Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. They have three programs: TreeHaven 10K, GreenSkills and Community Greeenspaces. 

 

TreeHaven has a mission of 10,000 trees planted in New Haven! If your boulevard is in need of a tree, or you know some one who does, click here! Join in on the ambitious task and many benefits of repopulating New Haven street scapes with healthy foliage.

 

GreenSkills is a local green jobs program that employs high school students and ex-offenders through planting of trees! If you need a tree planted for you, it's very possible GreenSkills employees will be at your assistance. 

 

Community Greenspace program is a great way to take initave in your neighborhood! If you have an abandoned open space that you think could be turned into a community space you can apply to have the project funded through URI. A map of existing projects exists full of cool ideas for you and your community here.
